From installer to global sales leadership

Stephanie's story

I began my career in hospitality and venue management, where I worked closely with security teams to help keep busy venues safe. It gave me an early understanding of how important reliable people, strong processes and trusted relationships are within security and property operations.

In 2017, I joined MyTAG, now part of Kinexio, as an Account Manager and Installer. The role gave me invaluable hands-on experience. I was working directly in customer buildings, installing and supporting the technology, solving practical problems and building relationships with the people using our solutions every day.

That experience has stayed with me throughout my career. Understanding how our technology works in a live environment and what customers and installers need for a successful deployment, gave me a strong foundation for moving into account management, sales and leadership.

Since joining the business, I have progressed through a number of roles:

  • Account Manager and Installer
  • Account Manager
  • Account Director
  • UK Sales Director
  • Global Sales and Account Director, Security Solutions

Today, I lead and support our Sales and Strategic Account Managers, maintain senior customer relationships and help drive new business and growth across Kinexio’s global security solutions portfolio.

What I have valued most is the opportunity to learn and progress. Kinexio has a strong history of people beginning in installation roles and moving into technical, customer, commercial and leadership positions. The experience gained on-site provides a genuine understanding of our customers and is valuable across the whole business.

For anyone considering joining our installer team, my advice would be to embrace the variety. No two assignments are exactly the same. You could work in some of the UK’s most recognisable buildings and alongside leading security, facilities management and property teams.

Be curious, ask questions and take pride in delivering a great experience for the customer. Installation can provide flexible and interesting work, but for people who want to develop further, it can also open the door to a much longer-term career.
